Spring Break Is Here!

I’ll be on vacation, travelling through parts of the West and spending some time at home over the next week.  Likely no posts, unless I have a spectacular picture to share.

The sky over Downtown Portland looks very angry this afternoon…

  2. Longview 400 ft says:

    Currently 32,5.

  3. Snowing in Bellingham and the foothills near Seattle this evening.

  4. JJ78259 says:

Beautiful 85 degree weekend in San Antonio great weather for the Final Four visitors!

  5. An off chance of wet snow this evening? No fooling!

“Snow levels will drop below 1000 feet later tonight for a threat of lowland snow. Showers will be spotty by then and snow accumulations are generally not expected although a slushy inch or so cannot be entierly ruled out on some of the higher hills away from the water.”

  6. WEATHERDAN says:

NWS calls for R/S on Monday morning. I think not but who knows. . Currently 56 and partly sunny. Peace.

  7. Roland Derksen says:

It’s unlikely i’ll see some more rain here before the month officially ends, so here’s my grand (if unoffiical) total for March: 5.37 inches. That’s only 51% of what I had last March, but it’s still about average. 65% of that total came in the last 10 days of the month.

  8. Nahtalkin says:

Looks like our weather casting pony girl has been sneaking into the feed sack.

  9. JERAT416 says:

I can’t seem to find the 7 day forecast on the Fox 12 site. Am I missing something? I’m using my phone, by the way, and even tried switching to the desktop version of the site.

  10. Roland Derksen says:

Very light rainfall here so far today. Up til this morning, I was just 0.20 inches short of my total amount for February, so it won’t take a lot to exceed it. If that happens, it will be the 20th out of the last 22 years, where March is wetter than February. It used to be the other way around.

Thought this was worth a read. It’s about a garbage ball twice the size of Oregon / California and Hawaii (it’s that big) in the Pacific Ocean. So sad (and disgusting).

      Sorry. My smartphone.

*Thought this was worth a read. It’s about a garbage ball twice the size of Texas off the coast of Oregon / California and Hawaii (it’s that big) in the Pacific Ocean. So sad (and disgusting).

    • Nahtalkin says:

If you’re not part of the solution, then you are part of the problem.

    • Sprayandpay says:

told you I wasn’t making it up. just because the MSM is silent doesn’t mean………..

  12. Roland Derksen says:

What a difference a few hours of sunshine makes. Yesterday, we struggled up to 44F in steady rain. This afternoon we’re at 60F.

  13. GTS1Kft says:

At least I don’t have to water my moss…..

    Peas in yesterday, though!

  14. Roland Derksen says:

Mixed rain and sleet showers here last night, followed by clearing skies allowed the temperature to drop to near freezing overnight. I still saw some slush on the ground this morning after 9am. This March won’t end up anywhere near as wet as last year’s, but it could be cooler.

  15. Tanis Leach says:

Enjoy your trip. Hopefully the place your going to has some nicer weather than up here.

  16. Sprayandpay says:

It’s clear this site is now designed with phones in mind which means no reading by PC users unless they don’t mind eye damage or have to constantly use a magnifying glass. Talk about a pain in the……….

On a PC it is really tiny at 100 percent and if you zoom it past 125 it starts to get decent then gets all funky and weird showing the mobile mode where it expects you to use a tap screen to continue or you can’t read any of the comments except random ones where it jumps up and down to. 😦

  17. Sprayandpay says:

So which model performed better? Drunk GFS or superior Euro?

  18. W7ENK says:

750′ up Holcomb Road in Oregon City.

39 degrees, been a snow/rain mix all day, starting to see actual snowflakes mixing in with the rain now.

Seems so strange, this time of year!

  19. Lee Wilson says:

Feels more like winter break than spring._.39° F
    Rain mixed with snow.

  20. Ellen Wallace says:

Have fun out and about! Had about 1/2″ snow here this AM. Low about 31* at almost 500ft.

  21. Jason Hougak says:

2″ of snow last night here in Cascade foothills with a dusting Thursday night. Blizzard warnings in Hawaii on the volcanoes for 2-6″ of snow and 80 mph winds. Snows hammering the Sierra Nevada. Sounds more like winter than Spring.

  22. W7ENK says:

38 degrees in Milwaukie with light rain.
    Splate test = positive.

SNOW POSSIBLE TO SEA LEVEL LATE TONIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY…

    lol

    • lurkingsince'14 says:

Ugh. Hailstorm yesterday was pretty cool, but low 60’s and sun can’t come soon enough.

  24. Wet snow is falling on the other side of the Salish Sea, but sea breezes are keeping it too warm for that over here. Oh well.

  25. W7ENK says:

What is this “Spring Break” you speak of?

    • W7ENK says:

      Enjoy your trip, Mark. Hoping for 2 things here;

      1) You’re leaving town, which means the weather is about to get crazy, and

      2) You’ll have more than just one “spectacular picture” to share!
