Downpours & Thunderstorms Tonight

9:30pm Thursday…

We’ve been expecting downpours tonight, but now a few thunderstorms have been showing up in the central/southern Willamette Valley as a wave of energy moves north over the region.  These showers/storms will continue their northward trek during the overnight hours.

As a result, we’ve put thunder back in the forecast:

MarkThunder_MetroOutlook

I’ll be tracking the storms through 10pm on PDX-TV and then on FOX12 from 10-11:30pm.

You can also check out the radar here:

Happy Storm Watching!

Exciting news from the ❄️ sport world. A new lift, Cloudchaser, at Mt. Bachelor. The price tag $6,000,000😬, crazy expensive!!! I wonder how much 💰 their lift tickets will jump🤔, that price will make anybody 💩 their 👖’s! Now we only need the epic winters return to the PNW. Scheduled for completion by December… hmmm?

A quick look at lightning strikes for the past 48 hours and you can clearly see The Dome was hard at work!

64 out now so just a little above average. Mostly sunny though so a really nice day. Peace.

  4. My alter ego says:

.66 rain in Salem overnight. Still should get up into the 60,s today. No frost and only two nights below 40 all month long, weird. Peace.

  5. Paul D says:

Below average temperatures for a few days!!! Woohoo!!!

That was some kind of downpour that just came through downtown! A few minutes earlier it looks like it might have pulsed up to a hail producer south of here as it crossed over 205 near West Linn.

What a wild April and more to come with snow returning to the mountains. This has been a very memorable April. Cloud deck is so low. At my house in the foothills the lowest clouds were blowing through the fir trees with a glimmer of a sunrise over Wildcat Mtn to the east. The wind was ripping with turbulence and a very amazing looking sky. Beautiful to say the least.

  8. We will be getting showers here later this morning and through the afternoon- at least that’s the forecast. For the first 21 days of April, I’ve counted just 0.59 inches. Last evening I saw some fine castellanus type clouds coming up from the SE, and I felt a few raindrops coming down, but that was it. This morning’s radar shows more showers coming from the U.S, but they seem to be heading NW- which misses my location. (we’ll get them if they head North instead of north-west).

I’m heading up that way tomorrow. Looks like I planned the wrong weekend for outside activity in BC!

  9. WEATHERDAN says:

Heavy rain with thunder and lightning in Salem at 11:30 PM, now quiet. Looking average the next few days but what a nice April we have had. Record warmth in fact. I think Alter ego is right. We are headed for another warm Summer. Peace and goodnight.

Brother and I went longboarding around the neighborhood. Glad we decided to head back home… downpour just came through.

This could be a pretty good soaker of a 24 hours by the looks of it!

Wow now thats a radar, The insta-cell that just moved through North Portland had no lightning but the wind and heavy rain were worthy of Minnesota in July. Wow. Me and my dog Miles are up awaiting the next band of stuff. Nice. Need the rain for my plants too.

  12. JackFrost says:

Now the lightning is really going in the central kingdom. (valley).

Yesterday those who were down here could see the dark clouds up towards Portland area but no visible lightning.

Now it’s our turn. 🙂 Maybe yours too?
