Skiing: Best Next Weekend

10pm Sunday…

What timing!  It rained part of last week at the ski resorts, then snow showed up just in time for the weekend.  It looked like this at 9am from our camera at the top of Mt. Hood Skibowl

The same sequence repeats for the last 7 days of the month…warmer and occasionally rainy weather Tuesday-Thursday.  Then much cooler Friday-Sunday.  Yes, looks like another great weekend of skiing ahead

Here in the lowlands it’s pretty obvious the dry days are going to be Monday and Wednesday.  A surface low could bring a one day return to “December-like” conditions either late Thursday or Friday.  I’ll be keeping an eye on that.

I guess our front for the day has passed through. You can really see how El Nino is punching the daylights out of these weather systems. Wonder if it will do the same to Thursday’s front. Anyway, looking forward to another faux Spring day Wednesday before that.

W7K: when are you going to get one of those electric cars I always see charging in front of your building? I think you get 30 minutes of charge free.

    • Well, the system that comes in tomorrow night is forecast to give me up to 1″ of rain; I wouldn’t call that a system that’s had the daylights punched out of it. Things are still super-waterlogged on the island where I live from last-week’s big soaking.

Still looks a little interesting around the 2nd of next month? Possible snow at 1000 ft? Still way out not getting hopes yet. Otherwise I guess just enjoy the sunshine looks like a wet spring if history repeats.

  5. Farmer Ted says:

92 degrees in the greenhouse today even with the vents open, 58 degree high temp. this afternoon.

    • Farmer Ted says:

And I have had several 60 degree days already here in January.

Le serre de Fermier Ted functions as it should!!!

Could it possibly be that cette chaleur is an area-wide phenomenon?

Mon Dieu, it’s ~26 degrees here in my office even with les fenêtres slightly ouvert. No artificial heat – just M. Soleil.

      …à bientôt

I find it very hard to believe that you have had “several” days of 60°. There have only been 2 days so far this month that have been a possible 60° day and one of them is today. You said you hit 58 as a high today so I don’t see where “several” are coming from.

San Antonio is a beautiful city and some day I would like to visit there. Just not in the Summer. I have been in Texas in July and January would be much nicer. You have a nice riverwalk. Ole.

We don’t get these weather reports from down there in the summertime. Hmmmm….

FWIW: Had my first 60 degree high temperature for the year on Friday. Barely, but still crossed that threshold. Now, onto that first 70! Hopefully sooner than later.

Looks like it’s gonna be another wet week. I may end the month on the North side of 8 inches for rainfall? It won’t take much more at this point…
