Cold Core Funnel Near Albany

Viewer Jeff Buccello sent us this video of a funnel cloud north of Albany around noon on Thursday.  Remember to always look for rotation.

Seems like about 50% of cool/showery days we get a view pic/video of a funnel cloud.  Definitely not rare, but always neat to see!

Darn it, a tornado in Hillsboro and I missed it!!! I can’t believe I wrote a fifteen-page paper on these cold-core funnels, thoroughly researching every event in Oregon and SW Washington over the past ten years, only to miss one just a few miles away! Argh! Cool video, though :/.

Awesome! Especially accompanied by the sound of the rain on the windshield.

And now we return you to your regularly scheduled boring warm weather…. 😦

Nice burrito wrapper! Looks like it came close to touching down, but not quite. Well done, Mr. Buccello.
