  2. WEATHERDAN says:

90 in SLE at 2:00 PM. Last 4 days have been 91, 93, 96, and as of 2:00 PM 90. Some high clouds but mainly sunny with a nice North East breeze. Peace.

    • WEATHERDAN says:

91 as of 3:00 PM Could hit 03 or 94 yet today. Peace.

    • runrain says:

So, I guess you’re telling those of us who live in PDX that we’re lucky we live here with the sunny but more comfortable weather?

    • High Desert Mat says:

I think Dan is saying that weather is always better in Salem than in Portland. Um, I think the more extremes actually happen in PDX on an average year. But let him think that. The statesman journal make them think that along with all the nonsense that its a city of its own.

    • Boydo3 N. Albany says:

Not sure why Matt is scraping muck but..
regardless of hypebole…Salem just set a record for the earliest string of 90deg days in 120 years.

    • High Desert Mat says:

Sorry guys I mean it. Just a bad day.

    • WEATHERDAN says:

Apology accepted Mat, we all have bad days. Hope yours is better tomorrow. And Runrain I was simply stating a fact about the temperature. I implied nothing. So in reality you guessed wrong. Peace.

    • High Desert Mat says:

      Thanks Dan.

    • Boring Oregon says:

Don’t give you an excuse Mat.

  3. Tyler Mode in Battle Ground says:

    78 now…running 2 degrees behind yesterday

  4. Thank god the humidity is down today. Although it would have been nice yesterday when we took out 15 trees. Only taking out 10 today, haha

Some weird stuff on the Langley HIll Radar at this time and some interesting cloud blow ups on the WV and IR sats.

  7. Jake-(Gresham) says:

Yesss die grass dieeeeee. Burrrrnnnnnnnn. ^_^

  8. David B. says:

Topped out at 83 today, 85 yesterday. Very toasty for early June up this way.

  9. Boydo3 N. Albany says:

Snap, crackle, pop… a bit too toasty for this early in the season.
we can hope for soaking t-storms at least in the mountains.

    • Paul D says:

Waaayyy too hot for any time of the year. Looking forward to a few days from now when we get back into the 70’s.

    • David B. says:

I actually enjoyed it but then again it didn’t hit the 90s where I am (almost never does).

  10. High Desert Mat says:

Currently at 98 here in Redmond but by the looks of observations Warm Springs is currently 105. Wow. Nice early June heat wave.

  11. Tyler Mode in Battle Ground says:

    91 today.

    Thankfully it’s cooling pretty quickly.

    Currently 71.

    • High Desert Mat says:

      Thankfully.

    • High Desert Mat says:

Its all relative. If you lived where its humid you would say thankfully its cooling its 82 already at that point in the night. Point is you get used to it. Could be a long and warm summer lets please all just enjoy it and not complain since we all know what the alternative is around these parts. Goodnight all

    • Garron near Washington square says:

I disagree with that. I lived on the Arabian gulf for a couple of years, and you never got used to the humidity. The pay was REALLY GOOD, or we would’ve moved sooner.

    • David B. says:

I don’t doubt it. The Arabian (aka Persian) Gulf area has the highest dew points in the world. And yet with all that punishing heat and humidity, it’s still a desert. Sort of a worst-of-both-worlds climate: worse heat and humidity than the jungle and none of the trees for shade.

  13. Paul D says:

Now the 7-day has Wed-Sat below 80. What a tease!! What will it say tomorrow?

    • Joshua says:

Kind of sad that we have to feel like we won the lottery to get below 80 degree temps in June, huh?

    • Paul D says:

The summer switch isn’t supposed to flip on until July 5! This isn’t fair!!

  14. runrain says:

The National Weather Service now says today expected to be 93° and tomorrow 94°!. Looks like we got ourselves a genuine heat wave!

    • chris s says:

Didn’t Mark say we wouldn’t get well into the 90’s on his last post???? oops, gotta call him on that one I guess.

    • Paul D says:

Those numbers keep creeping up. Yup, it’s a heat wave!

    • Garron near Washington square says:

With the winds blowing it didn’t feel so warm. These are my favorite hot spells, as we usually breeze through them with cooling at night. With winds from the WNW, this has to be about the warmest we can get W/O an offshore breeze? I’m only guessing here, but it “looks” like the upper flow is still “slightly offshore” even it the lower levels are pushing winds onshore. http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~ovens/loops/wxloop.cgi?wv_common+/24h/

Yet another very informative blog from Ciff Mass: When forecast vary for our location, who do you trust? Apparently ForecastAdvisor.com is a good source to compare. http://www.cliffmass.blogspot.com/

  18. JohnD says:

    Yeah, have fun Mark.
88′ @ PDX today sucks for those of us who monitor record potential for the most 90′ days. We should get our first one or two over the next couple of days though. I will say that my wife and I were all over town today and I am pretty positive that many locations in the metro did exceed 90′.

  19. janice says:

Have a great vacation! Will miss your forecast! Will see if the others can get it right! Betting noy!

    • Paul D says:

I’ve noticed that it’s rather easy to get it right when it’s hot. Looks like it’s going to be a really easy week to forecast the weather.

    • Joshua says:

Yea, tough forecast… warmer and drier than normal indefinitely.

  20. Have a great vacation Mark. Looks like no matter where you go the weather will be fantastic!
