Yikes! Driest Air in 2+ Years Right Now

Just noticed the dewpoint is down to 8 at PDX…wow.  It’s rare to see it that low.  I did a quick plot back to November 2011 and I see we haven’t been below 10 since that time.

    super — I feel skinny again…. lol.

  2. …meanwhile, in my particular micro climate, there was a brief period of time today around 2:30 when the air flow (not strong enough to call wind…) came out of the NE and my humidity/dew point reached 33% and 14.7…now, under the usual WNW flow, it’s at 95% and 21.6, with a temp of 22.9….life in a air trapping bowl…frost is getting pretty heavy in the spots that don’t see sun!…

It’s a little early for me, but I’ll do mine this weekend. Can’t beat totally dry weather for that. And no one can see mine from the road so I can turn them on right away.

Not to be downer, my wife’s dad died last Saturday, he lived in Florida, and that is where we will be during the Christmas season this year.

So a smile on her face is price less. She is doing alright regarding the situation.

Hey mark, is the east wind event going to be a gap wind event?? Or do we all get in the mix?

  8. Marcustheweathernut says:

  9. BoringOregon says:

    Dew Point
(Abbrev. DWPT) – A measure of atmospheric moisture. It is the temperature to which air must be cooled in order to reach saturation (assuming air pressure and moisture content are constant). A higher dew point indicates more moisture present in the air. It is sometimes referred to as Dew Point Temperature, and sometimes written as one word (Dewpoint).

After a whopping high of 38 today, it’s now down to 31. The snow from yesterday is still everywhere the sun didn’t shine.
