Dr. Cliff Mass Visiting Oregon AMS Next Month

April 18, 2012

Good news…my favorite college professor, Dr. Cliff Mass, will be giving us a nice presentation on Saturday, May 12th, at OMSI.

Now your first thought might be “How exciting could a college professor’s talk be?”  This is why you might be interested:

1. Cliff loves weather and climate just as much as you do (he’s “one of us”).

2. He has a great weather blog here:  http://www.cliffmass.blogspot.com/

3. Cliff is deeply involved in everything “WRF-GFS” up at the UW.  He will talk all about the past, present, and future of that modeling consortium.  If you ever look at the model, you’ll find the info to be very useful.

4. He was the main force pushing for the new Washington Coastal Radar.

5. He will be selling his book, and giving one away free: The Weather of the Pacific Northwest

It should be a good Saturday morning at OMSI!
