Hail Producing T’Storm Heading North

April 12, 2012

Live radar picking up a strong storm nearing Scio & Stayton in the next half hour (east of Salem).  Lots of cloud to ground lightning and it may be producing large hail.

At 3:30pm, this is the only thunderstorm west of the Cascades, but there will be more the next few hours…all moving from south to north around 20 mph.

To follow storms, head to  Then click on INTERACTIVE MAPS on the big radar map.  Clicking on WEATHER, you can add lightning and other overlays too.
