  1. Thanks for sharing the image guys! George, there was no manipulation done to this photo in any way shape or form. The lighting is from the moon behins and a “light painting” in the front with a flkashlight. The lights on the horizon are from shipping boats. If you would like to see more of my images please have a look at

I love that Peter Iredale photo! I made it the wallpaper on my phone. 🙂

Weather looks pretty active tomorrow. NWS even has the word severe in their discussion, though they don’t expect any. Just the mention is nice to see. Meanwhile, the middle of the country should see some interesting severe weather possibilities this weekend.

I guess Texas really does do things bigger…3-4ft of hail? Wow.

I have trouble getting excited about photos with such obvious manipulation as that shipwreck one. The lighting is just wrong looking and unnatural in a way unflattering to a landscape. Hyper real for no reason.

Actually, it looks to me the only “manipulation” done to that photo was a long-time exposure. If it weren’t for that technique, we wouldn’t have photos of stars, aurora and various other night-time phenomena.

    • There is no manipulation here. The light is from the moon from behind the ship and I used a technique in the feild called “light painting” for the ship itself. The lights on the horizon in the distance are fishing boats and real as well.

Is there a thunderstorm south of the Metro Area or am I seeing things? It looks like its moving NE.

Wow – nice photos! The shot of the Peter Iredale wreck is particularly good.

It looks like a nice orange/red blob is heading North towards Portland. Looks pretty intense!
