Earthquake near Monterey, CA. Too weak for Tsunami and in the wrong place I suppose too. Just sending along the message.
The sunshine is doing the trick this afternoon, with clouds building up into heavy downpours and hail showers. No cloud to ground lightning yet, but here’s a heavy shower moving through the Wilsonville area:
We’ve had one report of a possible funnel cloud touching down in the Salem area on a state building and causing some minor damage…working to confirm it right now.
For the rest of the daylight hours though expect the classic “Spring Mix” of sun, downpours, hail, and thunder!
The showers end after sunset as we lose the heating needed to keep them going.
And…from the shower shown above, this from the National Weather Service: AT 247 PM PDT…A PILOT REPORTED A FUNNEL CLOUD WITH A THUNDERSTORM LOCATED BETWEEN WILSONVILLE AND AURORA. THIS STORM WILL MOVE SOUTHEASTWARD AT 10 MPH. THE FUNNEL CLOUD DID NOT TOUCH THE GROUND AND HAS SINCE DISSIPATED. ADDITIONAL COLD CORE FUNNEL CLOUDS ARE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON.
