Just walked into work after a side trip to a large, boxy, orange-ish store with lots of home improvement materials. Wow…impressive looking radar with a big batch of showers moving through the Coast Range and into the North Valley. Check out the image from 10 minutes ago:

A 50mph gust just rolled through Forest Grove. And they seem to be more frequent now. Jane… I use wunderground.com for some of my comparisons as I don’t have an wind gauge. It has a couple of nearly live weather stations in Forest Grove.
Mark said a few minutes ago we had a gust of 40+, I agree, I see the branches in the yard. I wonder where that location is that picks up wind speed. Anybody know?
Winter is over! Just kidding! Actually the seasons since last year have been 2/1/2 months off of each other.
(Summer) at least weather pattern-wise came in August/late Octoboer save for the brief *stormy* period that sometimes happens in summer.
Then mother nature has been stuck in a mix between early fall and late summer till now and this heavy rain is what would’ve been
normal in Mid/late November during a La Nina year.
You know with high snow levels sometimes dipping to the foot-hills and a southern storm track and when March/April comes we are going to have a lot of *freak* snow events.
Just you wait.
The radar is going to (explode) in front of your eyes with a lot of instability and we will all wish Rob was here to forecast but instead we are left to our own devices.
Not sure if my post made it thru since I have entities that screw my typing up.

It has been steady rain since 2:00pm all day in Salem.
Dad heard a very heavy downpour real briefly early morning (he didn’t look at a clock) and I missed the whole thing being asleep.
At least I got to drive in the rain coming home from Salem so I got my fair share which I do not feel bad for missing out in the early morning downpour.
Stay at least 5 car lengths when you are driving in heavy rain and you will do all right with plenty of breaking room to spare.
Very heavy showers and strong winds here on the coast, moving very fast, have had several flashes and rubles of thunder this afternoon, hopefully we can get the firehose turned off soon we dont need anymore rain down here.
It was raining very hard and it was quite windy, nearly turned my umbrella inside out a few times while waiting for my kids bus a few minutes ago. We all had to change our clothes when we got back to the house.

I thought they said ‘breezy’ south winds tonight. Seems like it’s stronger than anyone anticipated. (and interupting my attempt to sleep)

1.42″ today so far.
Seems like the wind is picking up…What’s going on?
Quick 10 degree jump in temp with wind switch from East to West.

It was raining very hard and it was quite windy, nearly turned my umbrella inside out a few times while waiting for my kids bus a few minutes ago. We all had to change our clothes when we got back to the house.
Wow with that kind of adjective use you could be an author 🙂
I’m headed to a similar store today!
Pouring rain here with 0.56″ so far and 47 degrees.
