It Rained!

Only in late summer or early Fall could it possibly be a headline; it rained in Portland today.  It appears we got all of .02″ at PDX, but that’s enough to break the 22 day dry spell.

No rain fell at Hillsboro Airport this evening (same farther south too).  That makes today the 52nd day without rain there.

The models tilt towards the cooler solution… Let the see-saw continue.

  2. Anyone know what’s going on with the radar feed for local weather on the Instant Desktop weather ap? I’m farming in Mulino and I use the live radar when there are showers around to help me schedule outdoor work and indoor work. I’m in an area where I don’t have long line of sight so I can’t see where the showers are moving and the live radar’s really helpful. I’d caused me to stay in the house a couple of times when there were bad cells moving through instead of the greenhouse which is a plastic covered steel cage.

Anyway, the radar for the national feed works fine, it’s just the local radar that doesn’t seem to work. Wind, temp, humity all work fine.

I’ve tried uninstalling the software, and downloaded/installed directly from KPTV’s website after the uninstall and I still have the same problem.

The main reason why I am so interested in this particular year is because in early October Dad is going to do a much needed job in remodeling the bathrooms: Example:. tearing up floors and putting in new toilets.

Dad also is going to put in skylights that will allow some light to shine thru but the weather needs to co-operate for that (installing skylights) to happen or Dad will have to hold off on that.

I am frankly tired of my bathroom being like a cave.

  10. Currently 76° and mostly sunny. No rain here.

This “dual polarization” will no doubt provide much better analysis of “inside the storm” kind of data 🙂

This is our best chance at early tornado warnings in the midwest.

And they also mentioned about spotting debris at ground level from tornadoes…. Comparing this to previous technology, its very convenient.
