A Slow Night

February 4, 2010

I’ve been a bit negligent posting the last 36 hours.  The boring weather isn’t real inspiring, but that’s no excuse to be lazy I suppose.  At least tonight we have some rain and up to 6″ of fresh snow on Mt. Hood.  Snow level is still relatively high though…up around 5,000′ at this hour.

There is one interesting thing tonight in the maps (actually the only interesting item of note!).  The 12z ECMWF now puts us into a stormier and wetter pattern beginning next Wednesday.  Much more of a consolidated jet stream and several strong lows quite close to the Coast.  The fresh, hot off the presses 00z is continuing the trend.  So we finally have some significant disagreement in the long range models!  Ahh, maybe there is still some hope for fun this month.  We’ll see.
