Friday Night Quick Hit

February 2, 2007

Snapshot_16I’ve got to update the overnight lows due to less cloud cover than expected this evening, so this is going to be a short blog.  Looks like very light showers or sprinkles tomorrow midday-evening.  Then the weak system pushes north.  Very warm atmosphere comes in with the moisture too.  Freezing levels climb to 10,000′ for Sunday and Monday.  With sunshine and no east wind we should easily make it to 55.  00z MM5 puts us up to 60 Monday afternoon!
Next week we are in a pretty obvious split flow  on the West Coast.  Very weak weather systems with the brunt of the moisture heading into California.  No chance for snow in the next 7 days, which puts us into the middle of February.   So let’s take a look back at the good old days.  Do you realize it’s been 12 years since we’ve seen snow in February in Portland?  Hard to believe but true…Mark
