Apparently the payback for the early summer weather the last 4 weeks is coming up this week. That usual chilly spell around the 4th of July is delayed by a week or so this year.
Nice little cold front well offshore moves inland late tomorrow. Ahead of that we had a strong marine push last night. Temp was down 16 degrees at PDX today. Because of the approaching front trying to bring us southerly winds (as it would in the cold season), that keeps the marine layer from deepening tomorrow, so actually a notch or two warmer. So we’ve gone 24 days without rain at PDX but I think 25 will be it. Probably some light measurable rain Wednesday morning (less than .25"), and then a good marine push behind it for Thursday really cools us down.
Ridging rebuilds this weekend (according to ECMWF and latest 18z run of GFS), so we may end up with a 4th warm & sunny weekend. Each of the last 3 weekends we’ve been up to at least 88 degrees…Mark
