La Nina 2011-2012

I recommend you read the La Nina 2010 page first, then check here for a bit of updated info for this second consecutive La Nina winter:

I think last winter proved the point that we are definitely not guaranteed a “snowy winter” in La Nina years here in the western valleys of Oregon and Washington.  We only ended up with 1.8″ at PDX.  Sure, some of the suburbs had 5-10″, but not a big snow year.

This is our 2nd consecutive La Nina winter.  It appears this episode will be either moderate or strong, more likely in the moderate category.  Back to back La Nina winters are not unusual.

Hey Mark, Settle a disagreement for me… which would feel colder 8 below in Oregon or 8 below in S.Dakota? And why?

  4. Hey Mark, what should we expect for Spring/Summer? :)
