I think last winter proved the point that we are definitely not guaranteed a “snowy winter” in La Nina years here in the western valleys of Oregon and Washington. We only ended up with 1.8″ at PDX. Sure, some of the suburbs had 5-10″, but not a big snow year.
This is our 2nd consecutive La Nina winter. It appears this episode will be either moderate or strong, more likely in the moderate category. Back to back La Nina winters are not unusual.
